Class Rules and Regulations - Global History - Mr. Solowey
1. You must have a notebook for social studies or a loose-leaf binder with a section for social studies. This must be with you every day for class notes.
2. All homework must be written in full sentences on looseleaf paper or typewitten paper. There is a homework assignment every night unless told otherwise. Homework will be collected each day by a homework monitor. Do your own work.

3. Late homework will be accepted but will receive less credit. If you do not
hand in your homework you will receive a zero for that homework.
4. Homework is essential because it is work that informs you in the social studies and applies your knowledge in the social studies. Additionally, homework gives you preparation for the next day’s lesson.
5. Raise your hand if you want to speak in class. Don’t call out!
6. Don’t carry on private conversations in class. Pay attention in class.
7. Take notes in class. Write down in your notes important questions addressed in class and important points made in class. Notetaking is essential to success in school.
8. Get to class on time. You should be seated when the late bell rings. If you are late bring a note from a teacher or school staff member.
9. Sit in your seat at the end of the period. Wait for the bell to ring - ending the lesson for the day.
10. All head coverings of both male and female students will be removed upon entering the classroom. The only exceptions that will be made will be for students who wear a head covering for religious reasons.
11. No cursing or foul language is to be used in class.
12. Show respect to others.
13. No loud or rowdy behavior while in class.
14. No food or drinks in class.
15. Don’t write on your desks.
16. There will be a number of projects to be completed this term. Instructions will follow.
17. Full period tests will be announced in advance. There will be one or two written tests given each marking period. There will be a comprehensive final exam.
18. You have the option to bring your textbook to class or not.
19. Grades: Your mark will largely be determined by the project grades and tests you take. Tests cover - classwork and textbook readings and homework. However, positive, non- monopolizing, on the subject participation in class and homework constitute the rest of your grade. Grades are cumulative. The work you do at the beginning of the term will affect your final grade.
